We are a community based 501(c)(3) non- profit, independent from the Cape Cod Vet Center (CCVC). We are also independent from the Department of Veterans Affairs and receive no funding from them or any other government agency. Our members are volunteers and all of the funds we raise go directly to veterans and veterans program.
The Friends of the CCVC mission is to fund and coordinate social, recreational, educational and health/wellness programs for the CCVC and the veterans that it serves.
The CCVC provides counseling for over 200 veterans struggling with combat-related PTSD and other military traumas. One of the goals of the Friends of the CCVC is to assist the Vet Center staff in engaging veterans through group activities to reduce the symptoms attributed to PTSD and other mental health concerns. In doing so, creating an environment conducive to symptom reduction through connection and camaraderie.
We support veterans, military members, and family members of those seen at CCVC, to include:
Combat veterans/active duty military and their family members from all eras Veterans with military sexual trauma Family members whose military member died on active duty or by suicide
We help Cape Cod veterans experiencing food insecurity
Our health programs help veterans with reintegration
Helping veterans find solid employment is a core offering
We hold several events each year to engage with and assist our veteran population on Cape Cod.
